Portfolio Samples

These are a few of my favorite sites. Some are simple and some are more complicated, but they are included here because each of them had some specific requirements that were not being met by other designers/developers or content management systems. These sites are intended to give you an idea of what is possible, whether your business is large or small. Every business is unique and has some needs that probably aren't covered by a one-size-fits-all website.

Metzer Farms
Austin Brothers Farm
Austin Brothers Farm is a CSA farm in Western Massachusetts. They sell shares of beef and pork, raised on their farm. They also sell fresh eggs and offer riding lessons, oxen training, occasional livestock for sale, and host a number of farming events throughout the year.
This site was originally designed by someone else as a static HTML site. The content was good, if oddly organized and difficult to navigate; the larger problem was that the farm really needed to be able to make updates and changes based on the season and available products, and to post events and other news on a regular basis. They also wanted to have people be able to sign up for a CSA share easily.

I rewrote the site in Coldfusion, created a simple content management system for site updates and photo uploads, and created a user-friendly sign up. The client also wanted to be able to perform slightly more complex formatting and content manipulation herself, so I included a couple of basic lessons with the site re-building. That's all it took! Every time I look at this site, there is new, entertaining content there and it always looks great!
